Tree Tops Lodge Cairns – Conditions of Stay

The following conditions are for the safety and comfort of all our guests. If you are unable to comply with these conditions, you may be asked to leave the property. Please read them carefully.

Bookings, Payment and Cancellations

  • All prices given are in Australian dollars.

  • The price of a booking is subject to change. If there is a change in price, guests will be notified and offered the opportunity to pay the increased tariff or receive a full refund.

  • Guests are required to provide credit card details which will be stored securely until after their departure.

  • Payment for your stay is due at check in.

  • A group making a booking must provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance certificate with indemnity of at least $10 million.

  • Cancellation later than 2pm on the day before your booked arrival date may incur a cancellation fee of up to one night’s stay, which will be charged to your credit card.

Check In/Out

  • Check in between 2 pm and 5 pm. If arriving after 5 pm, please let us know so that an after-hours key can be arranged.

  • Check out is before 10 am.

  • Keys are to be returned to the office upon departure or put in the key slot near the office door.

  • Keys that are lost or not returned may incur a $50 charge to your credit card.

Rooms

  • Only the number of guests listed on your booking may stay in your room. Other guests must depart by 9 pm.

  • Pets are not permitted.

  • Please consider others and keep noise to a minimum from 9 pm to 7 am.

  • Staff may enter an occupied room for housekeeping, repairs or health and safety checks (e.g. smoke alarm test).

  • Please report any breakage, loss or damage in your room. Tree Tops Lodge Cairns may charge your credit card for any reinstatement. If you discover a fault or breakage upon arrival, please tell staff immediately to avoid being charged for this.

  • Smoking, vaping or the use of incense is not permitted anywhere inside a building. Use inside a room will result in you being asked to vacate the property and you will incur a cleaning fee of up to $280, charged to your credit card.

  • The consumption of alcohol is not permitted in the public areas such as the pool or guest lounge.

  • On departure, please leave your room in a clean and tidy condition. Excessive cleaning or garbage disposal may result in additional charges being applied to your credit card.

Children

  • Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • No responsibility will be taken by staff for children staying at or visiting the property.

  • The care of children on the property is the responsibility of their parents/guardians/group organisers. Please supervise them carefully, always considering the wildlife, plants, traffic, fencing, stairs, verandahs, pool and cleaning chemicals.

  • Australian Standards state that, ‘Children under the age of 9 years are not recommended to use the top bunk.’

Personal Property

  • Tree Tops Lodge Cairns takes no responsibility for guests’ personal property. Guests are solely responsible for their belongings and are required to take the usual steps to prevent property loss, including locking doors, windows and vehicles.

  • Vehicles at Tree Tops Lodge Cairns are parked at the owner’s risk.

  • If personal property is left behind, it is the guest’s responsibility to arrange its return.

Expected Behaviour

  • Guests may not access the staff houses, conference room or garage/workshop, unless invited by staff.

  • Guests are expected to behave with consideration toward other guests and staff. Any abusive or profane speech, illegal drug use, drunkenness, theft, destruction of property, violence or threats of violence, bullying, sexual harassment or criminal activity will not be tolerated. The offending person(s) will be required to vacate Tree Tops Lodge Cairns immediately.

  • Should staff consider it necessary, the matter may be reported to the Police and/or Police may be called to intervene.

  • No refund of fees will be given for a guest who is required to leave under any of the above circumstances.
